Inktober: superhero toddler
Super quick, tired sketch inspired by a photo of a little girl who had open heart surgery this week. Thinking about sweet Clara.
Inktober: party animals in hats
Inspired by the Paul Rand exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York, I decided these animals from yesterday needed some party hats. Party on.

Halloween costumes 3
Couldn't bear to ink these two cuties and lose the sketchy quality. I love them. Kids in vintage costumes.
Inktober: Halloween costumes 2
Inktober sketch. Kids in vintage Halloween masks. Really liking them.
Inktober: fall squirrel
First Inktober sketch. A squirrel surrounded by fall foliage-ish things.

girl on trike
Quick sketch based on a friend's childhood photo. Not thrilled with how it finished, so may need to finish it eventually.
dog chauffeur
Saw a guy in Central Park a few weeks ago who had four little dogs on his bike. Couldn't snap a picture but recreated a character based on the concept.

an attempt to paint something breathtakingly grand
My attempt at capturing The Morgan Library. It is beyond imagery really, so why I thought I could capture it in watercolor is beyond me.

loose afternoon painting
Feeling discouraged lately about illustration, so gave myself a free afternoon to just paint whatever. I love New York City.

practice makes perfect, right?
And then I practiced hands and feet because I find them so frustrating!
not an eraser-related incident, just frustration
Thinking about book characters. I love little girls in cute dresses with Peter Pan collars and Mary Jane shoes. Poor little book-balancing girl is my favorite but I cannot get her arms right, so armless she remains.
where does inspiration end and imagination begin?
Random girl character sketches. The right one seems a bit too Seuss-inspired for some reason.
And the dog… Maurice Sendak never gets out of my head apparently.
tiny sketches
I actually really like this dog.
And I love the concept of the tea cup girl, but obviously needs some fine-tuning.
