Happy Book Birthday, Jerry!

Today is the day! I've been dreaming of becoming a picture book illustrator since I was a little kid, and my first picture book is officially out into the world. Pick up Not So Scary Jerry by Shelley Kinder, illustrated by me, at Clear Fork Publishing, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or ask your local bookstore and library to carry it. I can't wait for everyone to get to know Jerry, his boy, and pug!

where does inspiration end and imagination begin?

Random girl character sketches. The right one seems a bit too Seuss-inspired for some reason.

I actually really like this dog.
And I love the concept of the tea cup girl, but obviously needs some fine-tuning.

pictures like this

make me smile. And laugh. And dream of ways for Rosie and I to travel like this. And wonder if the rider is in the circus. And what would it be like to be in the circus. And I wonder if I could wear those shoes.

p.s. bike in image is my new bike. Long story. But I love it! And Rosie will too as soon as we purchase a basket for her to ride in…

That's right folks, the Schafers have a dog.

We've applied to adopt a dog. The last 5 days have been a bit of a roller coaster on my emotions. But my hopes are up.

And I love this ad. More than words.
